Primary Biliary Cirrhosis
It is an autoimmune disease of the liver where by inflammation of the small bile ducts in the liver occurs. Symptoms that accompany it are fatigue, itchy skin, jaundice, collections of cholesterol in the skin and around the eyes, fluid retention in the abdomen, and esophageal varices. A liver biopsy is necessary in determining the severity of the disease. Treatment includes medication and therapy, as there is no known cure.
