Peptic Ulcer
An erosion or hole in the lining of the stomach, duodenum or any anatomic location. May be called stomach ulcers, duodenum ulcers depending on its location. Ulcers are caused by medications, increase in acidic digestive juices, or Helicobacter Pylori (read above). Neutralizing the acid levels in the stomach is a common treatment for ulcers, and if H. Pylori is present killing the bacteria with antibiotics is effective in promoting healing of the ulcer.
