Aspiration Pneumonia
Pneumonia (lung infection) caused by reflux or regurgitation of ingested food that is inhaled into the lungs. The bronchial tree becomes infected when incompetent swallowing has occurred, either by means of swallowing during a stroke, while intoxicated, or while anesthetized.
